Palo Alto Medical Center defines consent as:
Consent means that both people in a sexual encounter must agree to it, and either person may decide at any time that they no longer consent and want to stop the activity.
Consenting to one behavior does not obligate you to consent to any other behaviors. Consenting on one occasion also does not obligate you to consent on any other occasion.
Consenting means only that at this particular time, you would like to engage in this particular sexual behavior.

Safe Sex is defined as sexual activity in which precautions are taken before and during sex (such as wearing a condom) to prevent the spread or contracting of infection.

LGBTQ+ LOCAL RESOURCES

Shenandoah Valley YES! Alliance:
The Shenandoah Valley YES! Alliance offers youth meetings on the first Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:00 pm in Blue Ridge Hall, Room 326, 601 University Blvd, Harrisonburg, VA on the campus of James Madison University. Young people aged 14-20 who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or are questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity are welcome to attend.

LGBTQ+ youth are often underrepresented in teen pregnancy prevention programs, despite research showing that sexual orientation and the gender of sexual partners were strongly linked with pregnancy risk.

The TPP is a LGBTQ+ safe zone organization.
